Project Completion: SC Bootle Secondary School re-build
Thanks to your generosity and donations, the Bahamas Relief Foundation are proud to be a major contributor to the Sherlin C Bootle Secondary School in Coopers Town, Abaco, the Bahamas. This will be the first secondary school to be rebuilt and operational following Hurricane Dorian, thanks to the Global Empowerment Mission as our official delivery partner.
Work completed to-date includes new metal roofing, external and internal walls, electrical and painting which has been undertaken hand-in-hand with local Bahamian contractors. This model also ensured that construction could continue during the COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions.
Thank you for helping to return these once displaced kids to their local schools. The September2020 school re-opening will provide stability for the impacted students and their families to return to study and work routines where possible.

Upcoming Projects: Hurricane Command Centre and Basketball Courts
Your continued donations are greatly appreciated! To fund our next projects including the construction of a command centre at the SC Bootle School. This multi-purpose building will have high-impact windows and structural reinforcements to withstand future hurricanes and major storms, and will act as the Island emergency headquarters during natural disasters.
A dedicated outdoor basketball court is planned as a recreational area for children and young people, using sport and physical activity to create connections and ensure that the Secondary School is a place for social interactions and inclusiveness for the local community.

OUR MISSION
We recognize that the Bahamas will need support not just in the short term, but for long-term recovery. That is why we are raising and distributing funds for the Bahamian people rebuild following Hurricane Dorian in all areas of need including medical care, transportation, housing, infrastructure, and job creation.
ABOUT DORIAN
Hurricane Dorian was the most powerful tropical cyclone on record to strike the Bahamas and region, and is regarded as the worst natural disaster in the country's history.
The resultant damage to the Islands was catastrophic, most structures were destroyed or swept out to sea, and at least 70,000 people were displaced.
